Michael Essien is the Ghana international who currently plays for English Premier League side Chelsea FC. Michael Essien is known for his all-round performance, and he is quite capable of playing in various areas of the pitch. His versatility has often been used by the various managers of Chelsea in to get the best out of the team. He is recognised as one of the important players of the Chelsea team.
Michael Essien started his playing career with the youth Academy of Liberty Professionals before moving to French club Bastia in 2000. His professional debut for the club came in 2000, but it clearly became evident that Michael Essien was not going to become a first-team player from the word go. In his first ever season with the club, he made 12 appearances and scored one goal. However, the following season was more rewarding for Michael Essien as he made 24 appearances and established himself as one of the important members of the squad.
After spending two more years with Bastia, Michael Essien decided to move to Lyon in the 2003-04 season following the acceptance of the € 8 million transfer fee. Despite the presence of various defensive midfielders like Edmilson and Mahamadou Diarra, the young Michael Essien continued to impress both his club and various clubs across Europe. It is not surprising to learn that he spent only two years with Lyon, but in those two years, he made a total of more than 70 appearances, which served to re-establish the belief that Michael Essien was indeed transforming into a great player.

She co-hosted a show which was also simulcast on MASN TV (Direct TV – Channel 640). She hosted her own Fantasy Football Show on MASN called Fantasy Blitz, and is the sideline reporter for the United Football League which airs on Versus. Marks left CBS Radio Baltimore on January 25, 2010 to pursue other opportunities. She can now be heard on the New York Giants pregame show on WFAN.
